Don't know why, but there are a few Canadian watch makers out there that are putting out GREAT watches. St Moritz is no exception. The specs on this watch really jump out at you: 316L stainless (same as rolex), sapphire crystal, Lithium battery, etc. I bought this watch in black with SS band and sight unseen (except for pictures). It is a little bit thicker than I would have liked, looks a little bit flashy (the 5" markers are polished metal finish)and the face is charcoal rather than black. Other than that, this watch is a home run!!! Why it doesn't cost 0+ is amazing to me. I bought it with SS band simply because many dive rubber bands are so large (to fit over a wet suit) as to be unuseable in regular wear--I didn't know if this was the case here and didn't want to chance it. The SS band is more but is very high quality, including solid end links. Rolex or Omega would charge several hundred for this band alone! My preference is for nylon straps though. I use a 22mm military-issued nylon strap and it fits and feels great...I think it looks better in this configuration also.

And if I could offer one bit of advice: do not get an automatic movement in a low end watch (ie. not Rolex or other). The periodic expensive servicings and poor timekeeping accuracy will wear on you sooner or later!
